About

Pleased to meet you!

I’m a freelance writer specialising in film and television, based in the UK.

My work is backed by an MA in Film Studies I received from the University of Kent. I write sharp, engaging pieces that make complex ideas accessible across criticism, features, and cultural analysis. I’m interested in a variety of topics on screen culture, with a particular interest in social analysis.

I’m experienced in writing for a range of audiences and formats, and I’m open to opportunities across editorial, content, and copywriting.

A sleek, matte-black vintage typewriter with round glass keys and a single sheet of creamy, slightly textured paper rolled halfway through the carriage, the words “Billie Writes” neatly typed across the top line. The typewriter rests on a dark walnut desk, its grain subtly visible, with scattered script pages and a slim black fountain pen nearby. Soft, diffused afternoon light enters from an unseen window to the left, creating gentle highlights on the metal type bars and casting refined shadows across the desk. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a shallow depth of field, keeping the typewriter in crisp focus while the background dissolves into a tasteful blur. The mood is sophisticated, contemplative, and cinematic, evoking the quiet intensity of crafting film and television stories.
